Pretty nifty but read my technical advice that I had to figure out Now that I have it working I’m fairly well impressed with the gear VR headset as implemented on my Samsung galaxy note 8. For well over a day and a half I was absolutely unable to get it working and I am a retired computer professional. Here’s what I found out – you will absolutely need to remove your cell phone from any kind of a protective shock case. Once I did that it would work every once in a while but then I found that even the screen protector that was stuck on my screen would introduce enough additional thickness so that the connection that needs to be made between the cell phone and the headset would not “makeup” properly.Worse yet, while trying to make the phone connect into the headset cradle, that additional thickness added by my screen protector caused it to be cracked. Thank God it was the screen protector (tempered glass not film – probably film would be ok) and not my screen that got broken while I was attempting to diagnose the issue. Samsung –…
